“Introducing Our New Name” January 10, 2026
Hope Chapel: a name that reflects our Antioch heritage that Pastor John has been a part of since 1983 (Hope Chapel Kaneohe, first in Hawaii); Brenda Honold since 1979 (Hope Chapel Hermosa, founding church). Hope Chapel was started by Pastors Ralph & Ruby Moore in 1971. Their vision was to create a church that “equipped the saints to make disciples, reaching out to an unsaved world by the Power of the Holy Spirit” [Eph 4:11-12; Acts 2:42-47; Matt 28:18-20; Acts 1:8]. Focusing on MiniChurch and multiplication, the idea is that reaching an unsaved world is best achieved through planting healthy, reproductive churches. Key is everyone is a minister [1 Pe 2:9-12].
