Life is a journey filled with many challenges and opportunities along the way. We experience joy and excitement, disappointment and grief, victory and triumph. Our situations and circumstances change with time, but one thing that never changes is God’s unceasing faithfulness and love. He is a God who forgives and restores, a God who does miracles. In our own marriage and life, we have rediscovered the Lord’s grace, mercy and peace. We have experienced God’s healing as only He can do, and he can do the same for you.
John and Brenda have been married since 1985 and are proud parents of three adult children. They met at Hope Chapel Kaneohe in 1983 where John first started in ministry as an associate pastor. In 1993, John planted Hope Chapel Kapolei where he pastored for sixteen years. From 2010 to 2013, John served as Executive Pastor at One Love Ministries in Honolulu. By the end of 2013, the Lord was leading John in a new direction. He felt the Lord calling him to start a new ministry. With much prayer and a core of four couples, they faithfully met every week in the living room of a home in Mililani where they held a small group Bible Study. It wasn’t long before the group doubled in size and as the months passed, more people were coming to the weekly fellowship. In April of 2015, Journey Church Hawaii had it’s first church service at their current facility in Kapolei.
Here at Journey Church Hawaii we celebrate Jesus and the incredible love He has for us. As we experience God’s love within our heart, we discover His hope that does not disappoint. Our commitment is to help you walk in the power of the Holy Spirit by offering solid Bible teaching, heartfelt worship, prayer and fellowship with others. The gift that Jesus brings is a life filled with peace, joy and great hope for tomorrow. In the midst of everyday challenges that life presents, we CAN be happy and live an abundant life through the redeeming love of our Lord.

1. We are guided by Pastors
The Pastoral Leadership team is led by the Senior Pastor, John Honold. This team oversees the day-to-day ministry and operations of the church. These staff pastors serve the congregation and are responsible for the development of the spiritual life of the church. While John is our sole pastor at this time, it is our goal to discover, develop and appoint our staff pastors as the church grows.
2. We are protected by a Church Council
The Church Council includes the Senior Pastor and members of the congregation who oversee the finances and ensure the righteous stewardship of all our resources.
